Erciyas Holding, Turkey’s one of the most important investment groups, showed up with the pipeline project that shapes the future at the TEKNOFEST – ‘Hyperloop Development Competition’ held at TUBITAK Gebze Campus on August 15-19. Erciyas, which produces the steel pipes used in the Hyperloop Tunnel as part of the infrastructure of the TÜBİTAK RUTE – Institute of Rail Transportation Technologies, the organizer of the competition, produced the 208-meter-long Hyperloop Pipeline for students to race their prototype vehicles in the organization where 16 teams from 38 universities competed.

Emre Erciyas emphasized their cooperation with Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HyperloopTT), one of the most important companies in the world on Hyperloop concept. ‘’Hyperloop is a project that aims to reach beyond dreams. We are very excited to be a part of this project that mirrors the future together with global brands. We are still working on the 5-kilometer functional prototype Hyperloop line. As a company that has assumed the leading role in our region in this special project, which has the potential to radically change the world’s transportation system and lifestyle, we are very happy to be together with the future scientists of our country in such an organization,’’ Erciyas said.

In more than 90 countries

Emre Erciyas, Chief Executive Officer of Erciyas Holding, gave information about the details of the Project and stated that they will continue their investments in line with their dreams for a better world. “As Erciyas Holding, we operate as four different sectors with our group companies, including steel pipes, railway – logistics, energy, mobility – transportation in more than 90 countries around the world. Investing in startups that shape the future is an important part of our dream for a better world. We see the Hyperloop Project as a very important step regarding this dream. Hyperloop concept, which was brought to the agenda of the world firstly by Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla and SpaceX companies, and the concept which mass-produced steel pipes are used in space technology for the first time in the world; is basically envisaging freight and passenger transportation that can reach a speed of 1,200 kilometers in a frictionless environment in steel tubes. I believe that the interest in Hyperloop, which is already being seen as the transportation technology of the future, will increase exponentially in the coming period,” Erciyas said.
