Erciyas Holding, which exports to more than 90 countries and is the supplier of giant pipeline projects from America to Europe and Africa, including TANAP, was also closely interested in the Hyperloop projects brought to the agenda by Elon Musk. REVENUE OF 390 MILLION DOLLARS

Erciyas, whose foundations were laid by Ahmet Kamil Erciyas in 1978, started its journey with Kalibre Boru A.Ş. In 1989, it was named Erciyas Holding. Today, it has achieved significant success in the steel pipe, railway and logistics, energy and mobility sectors, where it operates in more than 90 countries. There are more than 20 companies under the umbrella of the holding. Explaining the company’s goals and investment strategies, Erciyas Holding Chief Executive Officer Emre Erciyas emphasized that the group achieved a revenue of 390 million dollars in 2023, and its export revenue increased 2-fold to 280 million dollars.

TANAP, TUZ LAKE, MELEN PROJECT

Erciyas Steel Pipe is the flagship company of the group, which wrote a success story in a short time and made significant contributions to the country’s economy. Emre Erciyas pointed out that Erciyas Steel Pipe, which has a signature on the 1850-kilometer Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project (TANAP), Tuz Gölü natural gas storage project, and Melen drinking water transmission line projects, has taken part in the world’s most challenging giant projects, and said that they have taken part in many projects, from the largest LNG terminal in North America to the large intercontinental natural gas pipelines that meet Europe’s gas needs.

APPLICANT FOR HYPERLOOP PROJECTS

Emre Erciyas stated that they are currently the sought-after supplier of Hyperloop projects, thanks to their large-scale mass production capability and capacity in the pipe industry, and said, “We cooperate with multiple Hyperloop companies and organizations around the world.” Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, popularized the Hyperloop transportation concept all over the world in 2013. Hyperloop is a concept that envisages carrying cargo and passengers at speeds of up to 1200 kilometers per hour through pipelines created in a frictionless and vacuum environment. It is also an environmentally friendly solution.

PREPARATION FOR LINES TO CARRY HYDROGEN

Today, green transformation is talked about in many sectors. When discussing transformation in heavy industry, energy production from hydrogen stands out as one of the topics. It is not easy to transport hydrogen fuel from one place to another. You cannot transport this through natural gas pipelines. At this point, specially produced pipes are required. Stating that they are carrying out joint R&D projects with both energy companies and steel manufacturers on the development of hydrogen pipes, Emre Erciyas said, “We aim to produce pipelines that can carry high amounts of hydrogen within two years.”,

THERE ARE MORE THAN 1000 EMPLOYEES

The group has more than 1000 employees, 20 percent of whom are white collar and 80 percent of whom are blue collar. 50 percent of the employees in the head office are women.

GLOBAL EXPANSION STRATEGY

Expressing that they have international expansion strategies to be close to target markets, Emre Erciyas continued as follows: “We are carrying out feasibility studies on establishing local production locations in different foreign regions, especially in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries, which will enable the creation of cost and competitive advantage, and we are making contacts with representatives in the relevant regions.”
