Designed for optimised LPG transport across European rail networks.
The world’s first spiral-welded 117 m³ tank wagon is a durable, long-life solution for LPG transport, with hydraulic valves, rapid charging and a 14 m weighbridge-compatible design.
The Zags 117 m³ Spiral is a tank wagon designed and built by Erciyas Rail in Türkiye. Key figures: capacity 117 m³, maximum payload 57.5 t, tare weight 32.5 t, axle load 22.5 t, length over buffers 18,000 mm, maximum speed (empty / loaded) 120 / 100 km/h and wheel diameter 920 mm. It runs on Y25Ls-K bogies. Compliance: RID, UIC, EN, TSI WAG; loading gauge TSI G1.

Y25Ls-K bogies, 920 mm wheel diameter; brake system KEf-GP-A · K composite blocks.
RID, UIC, EN, TSI WAG. Type approval and any additional requirements of the target network are confirmed at quotation stage.
The tank shell is made with the spiral welding method that sister company Erciyas Steel Pipe uses for line pipe. There are no cross seams along the tank, the number of T-joints to inspect falls by about 71%, and every seam is checked by ultrasound and X-ray. Erciyas Rail built its first tank wagon with this technology in 2022.
The 7-step quote configurator on this site collects the model, quantity and delivery date; our engineering team then tailors the design to your project. You can also write directly to info@erciyasrail.com.
